The National Forum to Accelerate Middle Grades Reform and the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP), as part of a national recognition program, have re-designated Cockrill Middle School as a Texas School to Watch, making Cockrill one of about only 70 middle schools in Texas to earn the recognition this year.

Molly Hovan Named ÈÕ±¾avÎÞÂë Executive Director of Elementary School Leadership
Molly Hovan’s leadership role continues to expand in ÈÕ±¾avÎÞÂë. The district announced at its April Board of Trustees meeting that Hovan, who currently serves as Senior Director of Teaching and Learning, will now serve as ÈÕ±¾avÎÞÂë’s Executive Director of Elementary School Leadership, a position in which she will support, guide and serve as a resource to the district’s elementary principals.

After four years as principal of Webb Elementary, Maria Hafner has been chosen to lead Wolford Elementary into the 2024–2025 school year. Hafner is a highly experienced educational leader who brings 29 years to the job, including eight years as a campus administrator.
MHS Grabs Title For Second Year in a Row in ÈÕ±¾avÎÞÂë Physics Olympics
McKinney Boyd, McKinney High School and McKinney North met on Wednesday, April 3, for the annual ÈÕ±¾avÎÞÂë Battle of the Blues Physics Olympics to vie for bragging rights and the coveted Physics Olympics cup in a series of physics related challenges. MHS won for the second year in a row and the third time overall.
